The Holy Presence and the mighty works of Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Mother in Kreupasanam Shrine have transformed Kreupasanam into a renowned sanctuary, attracting people from all walks of life from all nooks and corners of the world. The daily influx of devotees has been steadily rising. With this escalating multitude, it is anticipated that, in the near future, even for essential rituals such as taking udambadi or having a darshan, a prior booking or appointment may become inevitable..!

In an effort to enhance accessibility and provide comprehensive information about all the activities taking place at Kreupasanam, (whether Spiritual, Social or cultural) the shrine is pleased to announce the launch of a dedicated mobile application. Devotees can now conveniently download and install the app on their mobile phones from the Google Play Store.

Prayer for the Election of Syro-Malabar Church head 2024

Following the Resignation of Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, the Major Arch Bishop of the Syro Malabar Catholic Apostolic Church, as its patriarch head on 7th December 2023 following old age and other health issues, the Synod of the Church is meeting in January 2024 to elect a new head. 

The Syro-Malabar Church is one of the 23 Oriental (Eastern) Churches keeping full communion with the Universal Catholic Church headed by the Pope. It is the largest Catholic Church after the Latin Catholic Church and the Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Election of the Heads of the Churches are not like that of the political parties. There won't be any campaigning or canvassing. The members of the synod meet in Prayer and seek the discernment of the Holy Spirit to vote and elect the candidate whom Lord Jesus Christ wants to lead His Church in this difficult times.

Hence the Administrator of the Syro Malabar Church, Bishop Mar Sebastian Vaniapurackal is informing all the members of the Syro Malabar community to pray the above election preparation prayer for electing the Major Arch Bishop, in all our Churches, Religious homes and in institutions after the Holy Masses and in all homes after the family prayers.

Thodupuzha, the spiritual capital of Kerala Catholics?

 Kerala, often referred to as God's own country, earns its divine moniker through various historical events. One significant reason is the arrival of St. Thomas, one of the 12 Apostles of Lord Jesus Christ, in 52 AD. St. Thomas initially preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ to some Brahmin poojaris performing many great miracles, and convincing them that Jesus Christ is the true incarnated God, Who created the universe.

There after the growth of Christianity in South India has been gradual but fervent, with individuals embracing the faith based on conviction and belief, rather than through force or entice. Despite occasional support from rulers acknowledging the contributions of Christians in education and charity, Christians faced severe persecutions from certain Hindu and most Muslim rulers throughout history.

The early Christians, fueled by their devotion to Lord Jesus Christ, withstood adversities, finding protection from enemies, wild animals, and natural disasters through the intercession of Angels and Saints. However, in the contemporary era, with fewer external threats, some Christians in Kerala have adopted a carefree lifestyle, leading to a weakening of faith. This has resulted in the emergence of cults, communists and satanists that challenge the state's heavenly reputation.

Nevertheless, Kerala is not devoid of zealous religious and lay devotees. Many engage in intercessory prayers for themselves, their families and the whole world, dedicating hours in perpetual adoration chapels where the Holy Sacrament is exposed. Thodupuzha town in Idukki district stands out as a hub for Eucharistic Adoration Centers. There are many churches and chapels where a significant number of Holy Masses are celebrated daily.
