Tabor Retreat Center at Ezhumuttom near Thodupupuzha in the Idukki district of Kerala is one of the oldest Catholic Charismatic Retreat Centers in India. It was started, as a small prayer group by Late Rev Fr (Dr) Augustine Pallikkunnel in 1976, when the Catholic Charismatic moment first arrived in India. Prayers were held every month for the natives of Ezhumuttom village and its surroundings in the beginning. As unusual miracles started to occur among the participants of the Prayer, The Prayer group grew up into a bigger gathering, and the founder Priest named it as 'Thabor Prayer House'.
As Prayers at Tabor Center became very intensive and the happening of miracles became a regular incident, obviously people from other districts also started to come to Tabor to attain various intentions like the healing of incurable diseases and obtaining impossible favors through Prayer. Thereafter the growth of Tabor was very fast as its name and fame spread across the other districts of the state also.
And today, all the spiritual activities in the fully grown and Spirit-filled Retreat Center are being conducted under the efficient direction of Rev Fr Georgy Pallikkunnel, the nephew of Rev Fr Augustine Pallikkunnel, as a rare coincidence in the Catholic Church!! Just as great Prophet Elijah cast his mantle upon his disciple Elisha, Rev Dr. Augustine gave his God-given authority to his brother's son Rev Fr Georgy to run the Retreat center and be a solace to the multitude.
Just as Elisha received a double portion of Elijah's power, Rev Fr Georgy is specially anointed by the Almighty God in such a way that God makes known through his tongues the countless blessings and favors to all who approach him in the prayer center! Georgy Achan's prayers and spiritual contributions are the reason behind the steady growth of Tabor Retreat Center in the Kothamangalam Diocese and to remain as one of the top Retreat Centers in Kerala.
Different spiritual activities being held at Thabor Retreat Center:
Inner Healing Retreats (ആന്തരിക സൗഖ്യ ധ്യാനം) held twice every month are the specialty of Tabor Retreat Center. These 4-day retreats begin on the first and third Sundays of every month and end on the following Thursdays. In the future, these Retreats may be conducted every week if the demand increases. One Day Bible Convention (ഏകദിന ധ്യാനം) Saturday 1-day Retreat:
The most attractive and accepted Spiritual Service conducted by Tabor Retreat Center is the 'One-Day Roohabhishekam Bible Convention' also known as the 'One-day റൂഹാഭിഷേകം retreat' that takes place every Saturday. Tens of thousands of people attend this Saturday Prayer service even from far away places and receive umpteen intentions that materialize miraculously. The personal testimonies shared by the participants/recipients will narrate clearly, how much the Almighty God honors the words foretold by HIS loyal servant Rev Fr Georgi Pallikkunnel (junior)!
These Bible Conventions begin at 6.15 am with the Holy Mass on Saturdays. Holy Rosary Prayers and other Spiritual activities are conducted thereafter. Live Telecasting is made available through Tabor's youtube channel from 9.00 am. People residing in other states or countries can watch the programs through their youtube channels and participate, if unable to attend personally.

Bus services and Route map:
Tabor is situated at Ezhuttam which is 12 km away from Thodupuzha - Karimannoor route. From Thodupuzha special KSRTC buses ply to and from the Retreat Center every Saturday. There are some private buses also that run between Thabore and Todupuzha. Tabor's own bus picks and drops retreatants from the main road at Ezhumuttom. As of now at 9.15 am a KSRTC bus starts from Thodupuzha private bus stand. And a private bus at 9.30 am. Those who get down at the main road at Ezhumuttom can either walk or hire an auto-rickshaw or get Tabor's bus.

Coffee/snacks/meals:
Bread is distributed free of cost to the one-day retreatants after the Holy Mass at 1.00 pm on Saturdays. There is also a coffee shop cum cafeteria and a canteen where coffee/refreshments and meals are served at affordable prices.
Miracles:
Many people testify about the miraculous occurrence of numerous impossible things through the verbal assurance of the Director Priest, provided the devotee keeps faith in Jesus Christ and fulfills the conditions prescribed by the Priest scrupulously (usually a certain number of Rosary Prayers).
