Retired Supreme Court Judge Justice Kurian Joseph is honoured by most  of the Indians particularly the Keralaites, as he is considered as a gentle, noble and upright person and his verdicts as a judge were all just. And in the Christian community, he is admired as a revered person as his words and deeds are exemplary to the society as they are deep rooted in Christian perspective.

But recently Justice Kurian Joseph published a video message through  the social media, suggesting a solution to the ongoing crisis in the Syro-Malabar Church, in which he is exhorting the Church synod to compromise with the rebels and to concede to their demands!

This video was welcomed by the Ernakulum-based rebels and was celebrated by the anti-Christian print and electronic media, but has literally shocked the entire faithful, as his stand was completely biased and fully non-Biblical.

Some Fathers of the Church came forward and gave replies to his video and the Syro Malabar Church also gave an official notification, summarily rejecting his unjust and prejudiced counsel.

With this the image of Justice Kurian Joseph was damaged greatly and his present position in the faithful community was termed as the 'fall of a an archangel'!

The Grand finale of Logos Bible Quiz 2022 was held at POC Kochi on 20th November 2022 Sunday.

For the first time in the history of Logos Quiz, an IT engineer belonging to the Mandya Diocese (in Karnataka) named Nima Linto bagged the prestigious LOGOS Prathibha award.

The list of the winners of the 6 different categories are given here. The prizes were distributed by Kothamangalam Bishop Mar George Madathikandathil.

How to offer each other a 'sign of Peace' during Holy Mass?

 

Peace is a precious gift given by the Risen Lord Jesus Christ. God's peace transcends all understandings. True peace is a state of being totally Happy, Healthy, and complete without any worries, tension or anxiety! The peace of Christ is the condition of being in harmony and calmness of body, mind and spirit that surpasses earthly perceptions. On the third day after His sorrowful Passion and Death, when Jesus Christ rose and appeared to His Apostles and disciples, He gave them His Peace profoundly and repeatedly!

In the Catholic Church, during the Holy Eucharistic celebrations, the Celebrant offers the Peace of the Risen Lord to the congregation. And the community is asked to exchange a 'Sign of Peace' with one another. Then the participants wish each other a 'sign of peace' in their local customs and traditions. 

In European countries the participants in the Holy Mass may hug, kiss or shake hands as a gesture of peace with one another depending on their customs.

In India also during the Holy Masses in Malayalam and other languages, the Priest gives the Peace of the Lord to the community and asks the community to offer the sign of peace with one another. Before the covid 19 pandemic, in the Syro Malabar Holy Kurbana, the faithful used to give and receive 'Peace' with both their hands. After the pandemic, the faithful now join their hands and give a sign of peace to their neighbours in the Church reflecting Indian custom.

How to give (offer) peace in Holy Kurbana?

Most of the people without understanding what they are doing, simply stoop down too much before the persons near them without ever looking on their faces. It is not appropriate. When exchanging the Peace of the Lord, each faithful should look into their neighbour's eyes and join their hands, and offer peace with a calm and joyful smile, while slightly bowing their heads.
